“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." Hebrews 4:9-11

On February 21, 1959 , in Saginaw, Michigan, God placed a light into the world named Delphine Elizabeth Morris. Born to the late Nathaniel and Myrine Morris she was raised with the kind of love that plants roots deep enough to weather any storm, and Delphine carried that love with her for every one of her sixty-seven years, sharing it freely with everyone she met.

Ms. Delphine E. Morris went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 2, 2026 at the age of 67 years with her daughters, Son in law, and grandchildren by her side at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center of Petersburg, Va.

Delphine loved working, meeting and talking to people of all ages and spending time with her family. She graduated from Saginaw High School then proceeded to enlist to the National Guard where she served for 12 years . Delphine obtained her Associates Degree in Business Management from Lansing Community College. She later went back for her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration from Bryant and Stratton. She found joy working at Walgreens as a manager, eventually becoming a Store Manager of her own store . She attempted to retire in 2025 after multiple years with Walgreens, but as we all know that wouldn’t last long. Delphine began working at Sheetz in 2026 where she was a floating manager for their district stores, as her health started declining she stepped down as a manager and became team lead where she was still helping her team members and bringing joy to the job.

She was a member at Greater renaissance Baptist Church of Saginaw, MI for 6 years under the leadership of Pastor Cedric Cheatham and now under the leadership of Pastor Charles W. Levy Sr. Delphine was on the Usher Board and the Church Committee until her mother passed away in 2020. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Delphine leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, LaShonda (Jetuan) Hill of Chester, Va, and Mercedes (Destin) Davis of Jackson, MI. 4 grandchildren, Harmony and Jameer Hill both of Chester, VA. Brennan and Emery Davis both of Jackson, MI. 3 sisters, Sharon ( Matthew) Green, Rosemary Glass both of Saginaw, MI and Louise Jackson of Grand Rapids, MI; 2 brothers Nathaniel Morris Sr. of Saginaw, MI and Kurkie (Theresa) Morris of North Carolina; 6 nieces, Natasha and Kayla Morris, both of Grand Rapids,MI, Alicia Hall of Dallas,TX, Patrese Morris, Chester, VA, Tamicha (Brook) Byum of Hampton, VA and Nicole (Maurice) Perkins of Houston, TX; 3 nephews, Kurkie ( Katie) Morris 2, Nathaniel Morris Jr. both of Saginaw, MI and Calvin ( LaTonya) Jackson of Kentucky ; many other relatives and friends.
