Mr. Darrell Lamar Palmer Sr. was born on August 5, 1990, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Patricia Ann Palmer and Donald Kieth Palmer Sr. His life journey came full circle on Sunday, August 17th, 2025, at Powers Health Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Darrell spent his formative years in Saginaw, Michigan, and later resided in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 2008 and was an active member of the Saginaw High School Trojans Marching Band Drumline. Darrell was passionate about playing the snare drum and dedicated himself to rigorous practice sessions, often perfecting his craft until late hours. His performances included notable events such as the Indy 500, Circle City Classics, Cobo Hall Car Show in Detroit, Michigan, Battle of the Bands in Atlanta, Georgia, and in Southfield, Michigan, The Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Howard University Homecoming in 2007, where the group secured first place.
Following graduation, Darrell relocated to South Bend, Indiana, where he transitioned into adulthood. He attended Brown Mackie College, pursuing a degree in business. Additionally, Darrell obtained a CDL from The Truck Driver Institute and received certification as a forklift driver. He was employed by Pepsi for several years before joining Amazon, his current employer. Darrell was an active member of The Bridge Urban Church in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he embraced his faith and was baptized. His hobbies included fashion design, drawing, gaming, watching movies, listening to music, and customizing cars.
Darrell leaves a lasting legacy with his loving and handsome sons, Darrell Lamar Palmer Jr. and Michael Anthony Palmer; mother, Patricia A. Palmer; father, Donald K. Palmer Sr.; sisters, Shamika R. Jordan, Donesha L. Ferrell and Lakiesha A. Palmer; brothers, Antwon R. Jordan, Donald K. Palmer Jr., Donquarris D. (Vanessa) Palmer Sr. and Curtis D. Beemon Jr.; grandfather, George Palmer; a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention, including the mother of his children, Elizabeth Lamb; special confidant, Malika Stallings; and special friends, Preston Madlock, Reginald Williams Jr., Dorran Burns, Michael Hall, Noah Hall, Jovan Granderson, Ron'Dale J. Simpson, Nefonzie Phillips, Demarcus Baldwin, Regmond Gloss, Antwan Brown, Katoya Bowie, Shonte Walton, Erik Ramirez, Trenton Louis, Terrence Fisher and Javen Brown Sr.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Willie Jean Jordan, Levi Jordan and Patricia Ann Morris; aunt, Carolyn Marie Jordan
