Mr. Curtis Ray Adway, a devoted father and beloved member of the community, passed away on November 19, 2024, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age of 70 years. He was born August 16, 1954, in Altheimer, Arkansas, to Earvin and Willie B. Adway.

Curtis graduated from Altheimer High School with the esteemed Class of 1972. A diligent worker, Curtis had a remarkable tenure at several prominent companies, including Tyson Foods, Flowers Baking Company, Trefalibed, and General Motors (Chevrolet Grey Iron). He was known for his warmth and hospitality. Curtis cherished time with family and friends, especially his two daughters. His passion for cooking led him to open his restaurant, K&K (named for his daughters) in Pine Bluff; it was celebrated for its mouthwatering barbecue, neckbones, and candied yams.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Kyiia (Alton) Rodgers of Saginaw, Michigan, Takeenya (Dalton) Rankin of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Michelle Barlow of Saginaw Michigan; grandchildren, Keonnis Johnson, Jacquel Guzman, Alton Rodgers Jr. and Dey-ja Oliver, all of Saginaw, Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Keonnis Johnson Jr. and Desire Oliver; daughters of love, Catherine Nelson, Teresa Nelson, and Aisha Smith, all of Chicago, Illinois, and Jessica Willingham of Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Bobbie Freeman, Jerlene (Porter) Taylor, Loistene Johnson, and Gail Crittendon; brothers, Robert Adway, Willie Adway, Barry Adway, and Rickey Adway; many nephews including very special nephews Rogrick Adway, Dequinder "Snap" Calhoun, and a very special nephew/friend, Jeff Trammell; longtime friends, Malina Barlow and Sharon Adway, the mothers of his children; Curtis will also be missed by his beloved companion, Eva Sample; his road dogs, William Scales, Paul Gable, Clinton Burnett, Jerry White, Jerry Wayne Washington, Benny and Estella Higgins, Micah Biggins, and Damon; many others including the Altheimer High School Class of 1972.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Earvin Adway and Willie B. Adway; brothers, James Adway, Earvin Adway Jr., and Otis Adway; sisters, Inez Adway and Mary Adway.
