Corey D. Williams

Mr. Corey Desmond Williams passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Lansing Michigan. Corey was born August 11, 1975, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Nancy Williams and Sylvester Liggins, Sr. He previously lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Richmond, Washington. Corey relocated to Lansing, Michigan with his wife Shannon and the Hume's family. 

Corey began his career as a chef in Saginaw, working at Render’s and Bennigan’s. Over the years, he held various jobs, including being a manager at Bush’s Car Wash in Washington. Corey was known as a jack of all trades. When he was younger, he was an avid bowler and later a devoted sports fan; he especially loved the Michigan State Spartans. Above all, Corey valued family, friendship, and good times shared over a meal, a game, or a beer or two. 

Corey is survived by his daughter, Tory Williams; his two older children, Alyssa (with Jennifer Lopez) and Coreyon (with Keidra Cooper); his mother, Nancy J. Williams; bonus mother, Faye Humes; brothers, Sylvester (Nicole) Liggins, Jr., and William Whittington; sisters, Charla Liggins and LaCreda (Antonio) Colbert; bonus bothers, Quentin Cooper, Antonio Jeffries, Mario (Keisha) Humes, Kyle Hampton, Tariq Smith, and Jamal Smith; bonus sisters; Kila Thomas and Bonita Driver; aunts, Doretta (Lamarr) Williams, Loretta (Levi) Davis, Rita (Frenchie) Williams, Rita (Alfred) Austin, Patricia Williams, Patricia (Will) Brown, and Lenora Robinson; special aunt, Janet Hurt; uncles, Daniel Williams, and Carl (Verline) Liggins; special uncle, John Humes; special friends, Jay Ruiz, Keidra Cooper, and Hiawatha Smith II; stepsons Dominique Endline and KaRon Cooper; stepdaughters Ashley, Jaylisa and Terra Endline, and Arnieceion Cooper; mother-in-law, Roslyn Davis and Venessa Cooper; in‑laws, Reginald Humes, Sr., Lawrence (Shelly) Davis, Kevin Davis, Rolene (Ray) Bond, Sonya Davis, and Ronda (Brandon) Hendricks. 

Corey was preceded in death by his wife, Shannon (Davis) Williams; his father, Sylvester Liggins, Sr.; and brothers, Quincy and Troy Williams, and Eromon Sims; uncles, Delbert and Dwane Williams, and Henry Liggins; aunts, Claudia Liggins, Gwendolyn Booker, and Estella Arnwine; grandparents, Wardell (Dorothy) Williams and Henry (Claudine) Liggins.
