Mr. Clyde Tolliver passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 80 years. Clyde was born March 21, 1944, in Wisner, Louisiana, to Leola Tolliver and Fred Henderson.
Clyde, a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Hodge. He retired from General Motors (Saginaw Malleable Iron Foundry) after 36 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 668. Clyde coached basketball and baseball, and he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and hunting. He was a loving husband to Carrie Lee for over 50 years, a loving father of four sons, and a caring and giving person to all in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carrie Lee Tolliver; four sons, Pasquell Brown, Houston, Texas, Ma-Lik S. Ahmad, Atlanta, Georgia, Jerome and Terrance Tolliver, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Brandon J. and I’Yana N. Tolliver, and Blayze Elijah; great-grandchild, Chandler Tolliver; two sisters, Ester Brooks, and Arristene Brown Ward; four brothers, Greg and Cecil Dean Tolliver, McClenon Brown, Jr., and Abraham Brown; a host of nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Marquasha Wilson; godson, Ernie Ahmad; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Emmanuel Johnson, Ernest Williams, Willie Humphrey, and Kay Brown.
Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Fred Henderson; mother, Leola Tolliver, and stepfather, McClenon Brown, Sr.
The family would like to express special thanks to all our family near and far; The Torrence, Grace, Sanders, and Williams families; the Staff at Hoyt Nursing Home; Pastor James Hodge and St. John Missionary Baptist Church; and Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
