Carolyn Wade

Ms. Carolyn Rebecca “Becky” Wade went from labor to reward on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 81 years old. She was born Saturday, April 8, 1944, in Brantley, Alabama, the daughter of Willie James Wade and Nina Bell Wade.

Carolyn was baptized on Monday, March 9, 1981, and recommitted her life to Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Becky moved to Jackson, Michigan. She worked at W. A. Foote Memorial Hospital and at Mercy Hospital as a nurse Assistant. Becky completed a business program at Jackson Community College on Friday, December 14, 1979, and graduated from the Lansing Computer Institute on Wednesday, August 6, 1986. She was a strong supporter of education for herself, children, and grandchildren. Carolyn was a Mama Bear, very protective of her children, and loved spending time with family. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Terence (Eileen) Bridges of Lansing, Michigan, Sherry (Ronald) Allen of Jackson, Michigan, Kimberly Wade of Lansing, Michigan, Todd (April) Bridges of Albion, Michigan, Lloyd Wade of Jackson, Michigan, and Shannon Johnson of Sterling Heights, Michigan; 19 grandchildren, Christopher Winston, Special Granddaughter Ciara Wade, Keneisha Barbee, Jasmine Barbee, Shamari Dentmond, Cameron Allen, Jasmine Barbee, Ebony Bridges, Camille Allen, Kristen Wade, Torian Bridges, Emmanuel Bridges, Shawn Johnson, Taury Henig, Semira Bridges, Tatiana Bridges, Misty Wade, Amarion Bridges, and Justin Johnson; 24 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Duane Bridges; grandson, Brandon Scott Bridges; parents, Willie and Nina Bell Wade; all of her siblings, Willie James Wade, Bertha May Grandberry, Nina M. Patterson, Margaret Wade, Mary C. Bryson, Virginia Wison, Jewel Mooring, Fletcher Lee Pease, and Mattie Wade; and special niece, Laura Grandberry.
