Mrs. Barbara Mae McCloud “Barb” gained her wings on Sunday, April 12th, at the age of 84 years after a lengthy illness. Barb was born, October 14, 1941, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to the late Mary Morris Howard and Charles Howard. Barb was a longtime member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved being involved in Sunday School and Bible School. Barb loved being around people, and she had the opportunity to serve in her healthcare profession at Saginaw General Hospital and Valley OB-GYN. Her ministry was further extended to church members, family, and friends, as she assisted them in their time of need.
Our mother always put her family first. From cooking holiday meals, entertaining and being entertained is what made her who she was. She had a giving heart and was uplifting to others. Barb was married to the late Grover McCloud, who predeceased her in 1996. She will be sorely missed by her children; Arnold (Dephanie) Brandon, Stacey Brandon (Ronnie Ezell), Derek McCloud, Gloria (Al) Napier, and Tyrone (Barb) McCloud. Her loving grandchildren; Dominque, Kizzy, and Chantel Pittman, Takiyah Gaskew, Stephanie, Charles and Crystal Brandon, Kiara Brandon; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters; Debra King, and Linda Osca; one brother, Ronald Morris; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who she truly loved including three special nieces; Michelle Barkley, Marcia (Ben) Williams and Janet Pruitt; special friends, Ellen Hopkins, Chris Hood, Diane Doyle, Elizabeth Hamel and her co-workers from Valley OB-GYN.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her husband, Grover McCloud; one son, Steven Brandon; two grandsons, Ricky Napier and Stephon Brandon; one sister, Shirley Howard; and one brother. Donald Morris.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Khatapul, Dr. Hassan, and Staff, Health Source of Saginaw, and Covenant Harrison. Special acknowledgements to Pastor Rodrick (Irma) Smith and the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Family, you were a blessing to our mother.
