Ashley-Yvonne Ellen Adams, cherished daughter of George T. (Cynthia) Adams and Serena Johnson-Adams, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 32. Born March 21, 1993, in Saginaw, Michigan.

Ashley was raised in a loving environment, deeply rooted in faith as a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of her grandfather, Pastor Johnie F. Edwards Sr. She also attended Victorious Believers Minister COGIC, where she was influenced by the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor.

Ashley received her education in the Saginaw Public Schools, commencing at Houghton Elementary and proudly graduating with the class of 2011 from Saginaw High School. Following her graduation, she served in the United States Army Reserve. Over the past decade, Ashley has made notable contributions to her professional field through her roles at Charter Communications LLC, as well as previous positions at Morley Company, Meijer, and McDonald's, leaving a positive impact on her colleagues and peers.

Ashley was a dedicated advocate for charitable causes and contributed to her community, regularly donating blood and signing up as an organ donor. Since 2012, she has supported the Cancer Society, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, even becoming a recipient of its services.

She leaves behind a loving legacy, her son, Jayden C. Bracey; parents, George T. (Cynthia) Adams Sr., Serena A. Johnson-Adams; siblings, George T. (Sharnice) Adams Jr., Minister Sir Andre’ Johnson; grandparents, George W. and Marilyn Adams, Pastor Johnie Edwards, Sr., the late Sylvia Edwards and Earl M. Johnson; uncles, Johnny (DeRhonda) Edwards Jr., Kalamazoo, MI, Corey (Courtney) Adams Sr., Fayetteville, GA; aunts, Desiree Edwards, Kalamazoo, MI, September Garza, Katrina (Deacon James) Rhoden; nephew, George T. Adams III; nieces, Gia Nicole and Skye Yvonne Adams; In addition, Ashley has a close-knit group of cousins, including DaJuan, Jonathan, and Brooke Edwards, Kalamazoo, MI; Corey Adams Jr., Atlanta, GA, Jordan Simpson, Aniya Gray-Rhoden, Aaliyah, Lay’Ana, and Sy’Air Riley.

Her extended family spans the United States and includes the Adams, Johnson, Lewis, Edwards, Liddell, Triplette, and Holmes families. Ashley’s spiritual family includes the Reeves, Baston, Marshall, Woodhouse, and McCall families. She valued her connections with her Sister Circle, which consists of Sharnice Ragland, Jaz'mine Marshall, Latisha Anderson, Erica Thomas, D'Vaughna Hughes, and MiKayla West. Additionally, she has many friends and associates who will never forget her kindness and warmth.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the exceptional medical teams and individuals who have provided outstanding care and support. We are indebted to Dr. Elizabeth C. Pollard, the Texas Oncology team, Surgeon Dr. Frederick D. Todd II, the Palliative Team, and the entire Medical City Arlington Hospital. We also appreciate the tireless efforts of Dr. Bernard Novelos, the CMU Healthcare team, Dr. Sussan Bays, Dr. Ronald Bays, Surgeon Dr. George Malliaras, and the compassionate Heart to Heart Hospice team. Abundant Healthcare, particularly FNP Carlisa Brown, has been a beacon of hope. We are grateful for the generosity of Cancer Care Service, Project 4031, Catholic Charities, and the Heart of Hope Charitable Fund. The National Cancer Society and the Family Reach Foundation have been invaluable resources.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tyretha Baston, Phyllis Meeks, Maple Brown, Marguerite Ector, Betty Daniels, Charlotte Darling and family, James (Nina) Bracey Jr., Karen (Grandma Nita) McClain, and Alicia (Darren) Buckley. We express our deepest appreciation to The Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Minister Al Curley, Pastor & First Lady Dwight McKissic, Major Funeral Home team, Arlington, Texas, Pastor Benjamin Smith, Ivan E. Phillips, and the staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Samantha Ann Johnson; uncle, Baby Jarvis Juan Edwards; grandparents, Sylvia Ann Edwards and Earl Milton Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, they encourage donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in her name, ensuring that her spirit continues to inspire the ongoing battle against this formidable disease.
