Anthony William Young, affectionately known as “Fatty”, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 34 years. He was born to William Wade and Karla Young on February 8, 1991 in Lansing, Michigan. Anthony was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
His warmth, humor, and love for others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Anthony attended Sexton High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and began shaping the joyful spirit that defined him. He had a deep love for children and family where he found true happiness in making people laugh and feel loved. Anthony also had a very special love for his Grama—she was everything to him—and he called her everyday without fail.
Anthony had several jobs in the past few years, but his favorite cooking where he was employed at Olive Garden as a chef—he absolutely loved that job! In addition, he always talked about opening a family restaurant with his cousins.
Anthony “Fatty” was such a positive person and always gave off positive vibes no matter what the situation. He always had a joke to crack; always making everyone around him smile and sometimes laugh uncontrollably. He LOVED spreading love to his family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and loving him back! While he didn’t have kids of his own, he loved all of his nieces and nephews as though they were his own. And if you were in a relationship with him and had kids he loved them as his own too.
Anthony left to cherish many special memories, with his father, William Wade; mother, Karla Young; siblings on his mother’s side, Tamara and Christopher Young and Jasmin and Shardae Maybin; siblings on his father’s side, sisters, Shantel, Vernisha, Willow, Verkeirah and Ronesha; brothers, Will, Jr. Dominique and Christopher.
He also leaves to cherish memories his extended family, his grandmothers, Gladys Wade and Barbara Young; aunts, Tylizsha Wade, Karen Young-Roby, and Christine Morrison; uncles, Thomas Wade (affectionately known as “Peaches”) and Kirk and Kerry Young; God-mother, Patricia Gatson-Gararrd; many nieces, nephews, cousins, including Chauncey, Billy, Bronwyn and Brandi; other relatives, friends, and very special friend/partner Maria Burkett.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, LaWilllie and Omarion; aunt, Mellonee Brown; uncles, Timothy Wade and Kurtis Young; and cousins, Jabari Franklin and Ramses Young-Collins.
Anthony’s legacy is one of laughter, compassion, and unwavering love for all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
