Anthony L. Beard

Mr. Anthony Beard - Age 53, made his transition to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Anthony was born on December 28, 1972, to Robert and Sandra Torry in Lansing, Michigan.

Anthony attended school in the Lansing School District, graduating from Sexton High School. He later furthered his education at Lansing Community College, training as a laboratory technician. However, his enduring passion for culinary arts led him to pursue a career as a cook in various restaurants throughout Michigan. At the time of his death, he was employed at the Nut House restaurant in Lansing, Michigan.

Anthony enjoyed traveling throughout the state of Michigan to compete in pitmaster competitions. At one point he bottled and sold his own secret recipe barbecue sauce. Anthony valued family and cherished time spent with his aunts, uncles and his cousins during holidays and days off.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life...his wife of five years, Valerie Beard; his son, Andrew Bozung; his daughter, Damone Beard; Five grandchildren; his Father, Robert (Daurice) Torry; his mother, Sandra Torry; his brother, Ranaildi Haynes, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Anjeanette Beard, his youngest sister, Nicole Torry, and his grandparents.
