Mr. Albert Smith was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1978, in Los Angels, California. He departed this life on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 6:48 at p.m. at University of Michigan Health -Sparrow Hospital. Age 47 years. Although he was born in Los Angeles, California, he spent much of his life in Lansing, Michigan, where he built lasting relationships and was well known in the community as “AC”.
Those closest to him understood his playful spirit and his ability to speak his mind. He enjoyed gardening and took pride in cultivating and growing plants. Albert will be remembered for his strong presence, his humor and the impact he made on those who knew and loved him. Though he is longer here in the body, his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. His children were an important part of his life, and his love and influence will continue to live on through them. Albert was known for his bold personality and unfiltered sense of humor. Though he may have said, “forget them kids,” his love was deep in countless ways, and it lives on. Raise a smile, not just a tear and celebrate a life we hold so dear.
He was the proud father to Davion Scott of Lansing, Michigan, Passion Cleggett of Lansing, Michigan, Ariel Sutton of Port Charlotte, Florida and Albert “Lil-AC” Smith of Lansing, Michigan. He was also a loving grandfather to Kaiser Scott of Lansing, Michigan and Delanno Scott of Lansing, Michigan, who brought him joy and added another layer of pride to his life. He shared a close bond with his siblings; his brother Craig Edmondson of Jackson, Michigan, his eldest sisters, Yolanda Edmondson of Houston, Texas, Coresa Edmondson of Lansing, Michigan, and Deborah Robinson of Houston, Texas. He also leaves to cherish his memory his nephews; Marquise Edmondson, Nicko Ray Rush II, Craig (Lil-Craig) Edmondson, Isaish Manning, all of Lansing, Michigan, and Deyea Miller of San Francisco, California; his nieces, Falysha and Reshay Edmondson of Lansing, Michigan; great-nephews Nicko Ray Rush III of Junction, Kansas City, Craig (Baby Craig) Edmondson and Zander Zimmerman, both of Lansing, Michigan; great-nieces Harmonie Rush of Lansing, Michigan, Heaven Rush of Lansing, Michigan.
