Wondolyn "Sue" Gay Martin

March 24, 1963 — February 12, 2022

Ms. Wondolyn "Sue" Gay Martin passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 58 years. Wondolyn was born March 24, 1963, in Poplar Grove (Phillip County) Arkansas, to James and Odessa Sims.


Sue moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1969. She was a faithful member of Christ Kingdom Ministries where she enjoyed participating in many ministries and activities. She enjoyed helping family and friends, but more than anything, she loved to cook and spend quality time with her daughters and grandchildren.


She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Nekesha Sims, Candace Sims, and Courtney (Matthew) Darby; eleven grandchildren, Antonio Lee, Antwon Lee, Anthony Rogers III, Salena Lee, Kimora Sims, My’ae Darby, Treasure Nickleberry, Mackenzie Darby, Matthew Darby, Courtneii Sims, and Malik Darby; three sisters, Linda Patterson, West Helena, Arkansas, Sonya Turner, Swartz Creek, Michigan, Toni (Charles) Peterson, West Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Harry (Dorothy) Sims, Saginaw, Michigan; a host of nieces and great-nieces including special nieces, Sparkle Roby, Mahogany Jakes, Sabrina Mason, and Ashley Mason; many nephews and great-nephews including, special nephew, Brandon Sims; one uncle, James Henry Young, Saginaw, Michigan; special cousin/big sister, Felton Wilborn, Tyler, Texas; godsister, Sharon Brown, Saginaw, Michigan; godchildren, Demarkus Davis, and Samari; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Collette Weathers, Sandra Williams, Minnie Boone, and Lowanna Johnson.


Wondolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Odessa Sims; sisters, Brenda Sims, and Gwendolyn Jakes; brothers, Larry Sims, and Belford Williams.
