Wilton Scott passed away Monday, September 24, 2012. Age 83 years. He was born December 16, 1928 in Bishopville, South Carolina to Dave and Lucille (Cook) Scott.
Wilton was united with Martha (Hannibal), the love of his life October 27, 1949 in Bishopville, South Carolina. They later moved to Saginaw in 1953 and Wilton was employed at General Motors Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry and a member of UAW Local 668. He remained a loyal employee of General Motors until he retired in 1979 after 27 years of service. Wilton was a faithful member of Harris Temple Church Of God In Christ for 57 years, where he served as deacon for most of those memorable years. He was a prayer warrior that walked by faith. Wilton with his beautiful wife of 62 years at his side enjoyed attending church, spending time with his pastor and church family, going out for dinner, and sharing time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Martha Scott; one daughter, Dorothy (Brad) Wicker; seven sons, James Scott, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joseph Scott, Arlington, Texas, John (Vanessa) Scott, Robert (Peggy), Wilton Jr., Curtis (Vanessa) Scott all of Saginaw, Michigan and Eugene Scott, Grand Rapids, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Edna Mickens, Richmond, Virginia; two brothers, Mason Micken, Bishopville, South Carolina, Jessie (Mildred) Scott, Roselle, New Jersey; five sisters-in-law, Alice Brown, Mary Bracey, Evelyn (Johnnie) Griffin, Angeline Ryans, Isabella (Houston) Jackson; one brothers-in-law, John Singleton many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Wilton was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Lucille (Cook) Scott; 22 sisters and brothers; one sister-in-law, Ada Mayfield; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Brown Sr., Morris Ryans Sr., Lucius Mayfield, Willie Bracey Sr. .
