Willie Murl Harden (Lansing)

Willie Murl Harden passed away, February 24, 2016 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 77 years. She was born August 27, 1938 in Monroe County, Arkansas, the fourth oldest of seven children born to Willie McCatrey and Ruby Williams.
A resident of Lansing, Michigan for over 45 years, she was a lifelong homemaker who loved to fish. Willie, Murl, as she was affectionately known, loved to work in her vegetable garden and flower garden.
Murl leaves behind nine children to cherish her memory: Esther (James) Henry, Martha Peete, Lillian (Anthony) Mollet, Hubert (Yolanda) Harden Jr., Loretta Harden, Frank (Dawn) Harden Sr., Frankie Harden, Murlene Harden and Marvin Harden; sisters, Ruth Ann McCatrey, Proverline McCatrey; brother, Curtis (Sharon) McCatrey all of Lansing; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom she cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Johnnie Mae, two sisters, Etoy Davis and Operine Morris and two brothers, Burthel McCatrey and Roy Williams.
