Willie D. Brown, Jr.

January 10, 1934 — April 9, 2016

Mr. Willie Brown, Jr., our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital-Saginaw at the age of 82 years. He was born January 10, 1934 in Pittsview, Alabama to Raymond Lee Brown and Ella Mae Gaines.

Willie attended Pittsview High School and in his early twenties relocated to Saginaw Michigan. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor R. B. Austin. Willie began working in construction and picked up various other trades along the way. He was also employed by General Motors at the Chevrolet Metal Castings plant. In his early years, Willie was known for his style of dress and his fancy cars and acquired the nickname Sport man. Willie was an avid baseball player. He loved to fish, hunt, cook, and socialize with many friends while playing dominoes or just sitting and relaxing at many of his meeting places.
His loving memory will be cherished by his seven children; sons, David (Debbie) Burt Saginaw, Michigan; twins, Willy (Archie) Warren, Clinton, M.D., Billy Warren, Muskegon, Michigan; daughters Delores (Roy) Walker, Saginaw, Michigan, Gwen Long, Saginaw, Michigan, Kim Bullock of Lansing, Michigan, and Demetria of Saginaw, Michigan; twenty-one grandchildren, David Burt, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida, Jarquez Swilley, La-Darius Welch, Mary Bassett, Mickel Bullock, China Jordan, Patrick Robinson, Jr., Davontae Long, Deja Bullock, Nathaniel Trader, Jalajca Walker, Jahni Walker, Jhi-Khina Walker, Natashia Trader, Montrell Trader, Trayvon Trader and Demitri Bell, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Princess Warren, Shaunece Warren, Robert Warren, Nonnel Warren, all of Muskegon, Michigan, Quentin Warren of Los Angeles, California and Donovan Warren of Clinton, Maryland; ten great-grandchildren, Deshawn Warren, Corey Blackman, Coreyon Blackman, Courtney Blackman all of Muskegon, Michigan, JaNiyha Swilley, JaQuaya Swilley, Jemaryah Kahlisa, Jemario Bassett and Cornell Jordan all of Saginaw, Michigan; three brothers, Ray Henderson, Flint, Michigan, Larry Henderson, Columbus, Georgia, Rochelle Hinton, Vero, Beach, Florida.; four sisters, Mary Rutledge and Susie Henderson, Columbus, Georgia, Geneva (Lonnie) Williams, Geraldine (Maurice) Southern, Saginaw, Michigan; uncles, Ike Sims Saginaw, MIichigan, James C. Hampstead, New York; aunts, Jennie Gaines, Saginaw, Michigan, Alberta (Rev. Johnnie Walton), Phoenix City, Alabama, Annie Blanding, Pittsview, Alabama, Jessie (William) Alexander, Perry, Florida, Annie P. Cobb, East Chicago, Indiana; friends, Ms. Bettye Bullock, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Burt and Mrs. Bonnie Thomas; extended family, Barbara Sane, Saginaw, Michigan, Mrs. Mae (Ted) Bullock, Greensboro, North Carolina, Gwen Sims, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Carolyn Hulett, Janice (Ralph Donald) Baldridge and Nathan (Gerriann) Burt, all of Saginaw, Michigan. Willie was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Brown, father, Raymond Lee Brown, mother, Ella Mae Gaines and cousin, Johnny Thomas, Sr.

The family would like to express specials thanks to the Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center family (there were those of you who really showed your love and care), Covenant Healthcare staff, Select Specialty Hospital staff, Nathan Burt and Yvette Jamison, family and friends, Mr. Ivan E. Phillips and the staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
