Willie C. Weems

June 5, 1946 — June 26, 2019

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 73 years old. Willie C. “Ulysses” Weems was born June 5, 1946 in Union Springs, Alabama to Ocie Lee Tellis and Ethel Mae Townsend.

Willie was baptized at an early age at Bruceville (Bethlehem Baptist Church) in Union Springs, Alabama. He was baptized in the name of Jesus and continued his service to God at Bethlehem Temple Church of Apostolic Faith in Saginaw, Michigan and served as a deacon from 1992 until his health declined. He met and married the love of his life, Wilma N. Hough, January 2, 1967. He was employed with the General Motors Corporation Grey Iron Foundry and retired in 2005 after forty-two years of dedicated service.

Willie was affectionately known as “Dadeo” by the grandchildren. He loved his wife, his cars, doing work around the church and The Word gospel network. He did not sugarcoat anything for anybody. You had to have tough skin around him.

Willie was a godly man and a family man. He set a strong example for his family to follow.
He lived a life of service to God and others. His presence, sense of humor and bright smile are forever etched in our hearts and memory.

Awaiting Willie at heaven’s gates were his parents, Ocie Lee Tellis and Ethel Mae Townsend; stepfather, Fraizer Townsend, Sr.; sisters, Annie Will Townsend, Bobby Ann Newby, Marilyn “Kay” Tellis; brothers, Lehn Richard “Ricky” Tellis, Curtis Townsend, David and Terry Tellis; nephews, Bernard Townsend, Glenn Cabbell III and Alberdeen Townsend..
