William Linzsey, Jr.

October 15, 1952 — December 30, 2021

On October 15, 1952, a new melody began to play in the air as William (Bill) Linzsey Jr., was born to William Sr. and Corrine Linzsey in Saginaw, Michigan where Bill was a lifelong resident. On December 30, 2021, you can hear the Angels sing his favorite Hymn, “I Need Thee Every Hour” as he transitioned home, where God decided he needed him in His choir in Heaven above.

Bill was a resident of Saginaw and Buena Vista all his life obtaining an education from Buena Vista High School, graduating (Class of ’71), five years of service at K-Mart, and was an employee of Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 2003 after 33 years of service. For those of you who knew him, you would often hear the stories of work experiences. His friends, such as Spider, would be full of joy as he told them, with his infectious smile. He was also a lifelong member of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the former Rev. K. M. Merkerson, and the current Pastor Robert B. Corley Jr. where he sang in the Senior Choir, Men’s Chorus, and served as a musician/pianist for many years while also teaching music to many of his nieces and nephews. He truly loved his grandchildren and cooking. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and he will be truly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Adam G. Williams and Delamar Andrew Linzsey; his grandchildren (heartbeats), Chanel, Darius, Jimmy, Kaelyn, LaMyra, Lauren, Aubrey and Josiah; brothers and sister, Minnie Smith, John Linzsey, Patricia (Moses) Linzsey, Tommy Linzsey, Edna (Anthony) Berry, and Doris ((Josh) English. We cannot forget his best friend and wife Dereniece Williams, where his legacy was created. Bill had many nieces and nephews, many whom he raised as his own, as well as in-laws far too many to name because this list would go on and on, but know that all are special and loved.
