Warren Anthony Wright, Sr. "Peanut"

Mr. Warren Anthony Wright, Sr., affectionately known as “Peanut,” passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison at the age of 58 years. He was born on August 3, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Warren Stephens and Shirley Wright.

Mr. Wright was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Saginaw Public Schools and retired from Olive Garden Italian Restaurant where he worked as a cook. Warren had also been employed by In & Out Party Store. He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his service. Warren enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards, repairing cars and painting. He was a “jack of all trades.” If something needed to be fixed, everyone called “MacGyver.”

Warren leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda; two daughters and five sons, Warren (Heather) Wright, Jason (Stephanie) Wright, North Carolina, Stephanie Allen, Ashley Allen, Jeff D. Allen, Homer Allen and Omarion Allen; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Travon, Taile’onna, Corie, Kimora, Dawn and Kameron; five sisters, Alice Stephens and Rose Sims, Saginaw, Michigan, Robin (Lionel) Wright, Yolanda Wright (David Dixon), Chalantha Bernard (Michael Kiper), all of New Orleans, Louisiana; one brother, Jimmy Sims; aunts, Gloria Wright, Houston, Texas, Bonnie Bradley, Southfield, Michigan, Marian Robinson, Cynthenia McKinley, Vanatra Wright, all of Hammond, Louisiana; uncles, Edward, Conrad, Greg and Bryant Wright, all of Hammond, Louisiana; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special niece, Shonda Wright; special cousin, Hilton Garmin; five sisters-in-law, Marilyn Allen, Sarah (Micheal) Murphy, Angela Allen (Mickey), Melanie Fredricks; four brothers-in-law, Leroy (Tracy) Allen, Phil Allen, Jeff (Carla) Allen and Homer Allen; former father-in-law, Raymond Sampson, Sr.; many other relatives and friends; very special friend, Gregory Smith.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Stephens and Shirley Wright; sister, Gloria Green; brothers, Derrick Wright and Ellsworth Sims, Sr.; grandparents, Corean and Hugh Johnson; uncle, Thomas Wright; stepfather, Ellsworth Sims; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Sherry) Lampley; his former wife, Nancy Wright.

The family expresses special thanks to Warren's aunt, Mary Wright and sister-in-law, Angela Allen, who were always there to help in any way they could from the onset of Warren’s illness until he departed this earthly life.
