Vince Leon James (Lansing)

Vince Leon James was born on Thursday, August 18, 1966 in
Lansing, Michigan to Willie Earl James and Carrie Mae Wheeler.
He was a lifelong residence of Lansing, Michigan graduating from
Lansing J. W. Sexton High School. Mr. James served in the
National Guard. He confessed his belief in our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ and united with Solid Rock Church under the
leadership of Rev. James Carter. He knew that whosoever believe
in the Lord and Savior will have everlasting life.

Vince, affectionally known as "Maine" to his mom was a devoted
son, caring father, an inspiring brother and a dedicated friend to
many. You would often see him walking the neighborhoods with
a friendly smile. Besides walking, Vince loved to play basketball,
worked hard, was dependable, and the devoted, “Go to Guy”. He
liked to hang out with his friends, liked to clean up, loved to rap
and listen to rap music, read, write, and read the Bible. Mr. James
was gainfully employed at Falsetta's Casa Nova. Because of Mr.
James' pleasant personality, he never met a stranger. If you knew
him, you loved him. As a man of honor, he gave of himself not for
recognition, but because of the love that filled his heart. His
devotion to his family and friends were absolute which was
demonstrated every day that he lived.

Vince was preceded in his homegoing by his father-Willie Earl
James, Cousin-Domonique Daquan Wheeler, In-Law - Sandy
Osborne and Brother-in-Law - Husband Lee.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Vince Leon James, departed this
world to rejoice in the presence of His Heavenly Father. Many
precious memories will be cherished by his mother – Carrie
Wheeler; one daughter Jonay; Siblings – Latoya Felicia Wheeler,
Tracey Osborne, , Kelvin (Tami) James, Reggie Duncan, Travis
James, Quentin (Yolanda), and Tasha James; Uncles - Ralph
Wheeler, Bobby Wheeler, and John Colin; Aunt - Naomi Harvey;
Nieces and Nephews - Miquan Wheeler, Shaniqua Wheeler,
Domonique Wheeler, Antonia Andersen, Daquan Wheeler,
Domonesha Wheeler, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends including Curtis George, Tony and Jermaine.
