Venita Rose Brown peacefully departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Frankenmuth Tendercare. Age 56 years. She was born on January 10, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas and was the fifth child and the youngest daughter of six children born to the union of Phillip H. and Willie Mae Armour.
She spent her formative years being nurtured with love by her family and friends. Venita loved to cook, especially baking pound cakes and muffins. She loved all flowers, especially roses and stuffed animals. Venita professed a hope in Christ and was baptized at the age of twelve by the late Rev. James Wilkes. Her Christian walk began at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas. Venita loved to pray and read her bible daily. She would often say When I pray, God will show me the answer. Upon relocating to Saginaw, Venita united with the Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodrick A. Smith. She served faithfully at Zion until her health failed.
Venita was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas public school system. Venita was the mother of two sons, Marcus and Christopher whom she adored. Venita had a passion for life. She was a giver and had a heart for those who were hurting and needed her help. She was there to lend a helping hand to anyone who expressed a need. Venita was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Her brother and sister, Ulysses and Linda were by her side when she took her last breath.
Venita leaves to cherish her precious memory, her son, Christopher M. Armour of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Ulysses (Kathleen) Boyd of Fayetteville, North Carolina; her sister, Linda (Tracy) Gaskin of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Fredrick (Karen) Armour of Dallas, Texas; four granddaughters, Shaetonia, Kyannah and Alexus, of Kansas City, Kansas, Camille of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Christopher II and Sheldon of Dallas, Texas; one great granddaughter, Anesty; two great-grandsons Keyshaun, Jr., and Marcus all of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters-in-law Eliza and Dora Boyd of Kansas City, Kansas; nine nieces and six nephews; many other relatives and friends including her special friends, Sister Marietta Fritz, Sona Carruth, and Rita Flemings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and Phillip Armour; her oldest son, Marcus; brothers Edward Earl and Herman Jr.
