Troy L. Presley

December 4, 1940 — March 3, 2018

Mr. Troy L. Presley passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at HealthSource Saginaw after a two year battle with kidney failure. Age 77 years. He was born on December 4, 1940 in Reform, Alabama to Oscar M. and Willie Mae Presley.

Mr. Presley was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a former member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Saginaw. Troy was married to Willie Augusta Rainey Presley; to this union, two children were born, Bernadette and Daniel Presley. Mr. Presley served in the United States Navy, receiving an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his military service. He was employed by General Motors (Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry) and was a member of UAW Local 668. Troy was known as a jokester and trash talker who loved to sing and write songs. He enjoyed being the life of the party and he will be missed by many who knew and loved him.

Troy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Bernadette Presley; four sons, Daniel Presley, Troy Jr. (Vanessa) Jackson, Flint, Michigan, Kevin (Barbara) Presley, Atlanta, Georgia, Marcus (Amy) Lee, Bay City, Michigan; ten grandchildren; four sisters, Claudine Cooper, Dorothy P. (William) Jones, Shirley (James) York, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Hattye Thorpe, Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers, Samuel E. Presley, Raymond (Lynn) Presley, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special niece, Victoria Lee, who assisted with taking him to Dr. and dialysis appointments when needed.

Mr. Presley was preceded in death by one son, Elvis B. Presley; one sister, Eloise Pitman; one brother, Cicero Presley, and sister-in-law, Sharon Presley.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at HealthSource (Patriotic Wing) who offered encouragement to the family; Heartland Hospice, and Towne Center DaVita. We are especially grateful and appreciative to our sister, Shirley York and her husband, Jim, for caring for our brother in their home for over fifteen years.
