Tony Earl Taylor, Sr. (Lansing)

September 3, 1962 — July 4, 2015

Mr. Tony Earl Taylor, Sr. passed on Saturday, July 4, 2015. He was born September 3, 1962 in Columbus, Mississippi, to the union of Henry Earl Taylor and Mattie Mae Taylor.
Tony grew up in Chicago, Illinois where he attended Betsy Ross Elementary and Engerwood High School. He served two years with the United States Army. He later moved to Muskegon, Michigan with his parents. Tony was employed with Sheffield Foundry in Chicago, Illinois seventeen years and also Raphidy Restaurant and Poly Ply Plastics while in Muskegon. Tony moved to Lansing, Michigan where he was united in marriage to JoeAnn his wife of 14 years. He was an active member of the Elks of the World (IBPOE of W) locally, Silver Leaf Lodge #534, and Council 150, serving as Bar Chairman and Tiler for the Michigan State Association. Tony was always willing to lend a hand where needed. He loved to cook, and grilling BBQ was a favorite pastime. He always watched the Food Network Channel so that he could try new things. Tony enjoyed dancing, singing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Taylor leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, JoeAnn; three sons, Tony Walker and DaVarus McKinley of Chicago, Illinois, and Tony Taylor, Jr. (Tiara) of Michigan; stepchildren, Shalaya Spencer, Gary Jackson and Loron Mendenhall; siblings, Laura (Daniel Jr.) Sandoval, Jessie Taylor of Muskegon, Michigan, Eddie (Antoinette) Phillips of Chicago, Illinois, Henry Bernard , Derrick, Theo (Karmena) Taylors, and John Steward of Muskegon, Michigan; in-laws, George Spencer, Patricia Jones, Tracey Nick, Princess Nick, mother-in-law, Bertha and father-in-law, Nick; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, June White, Terry Spears and Sam Mallet.
Tony was preceded in death, by his parents, Henry Earl Taylor and Mattie Mae Taylor, father- in- law, Lowrell Spencer and brother, Lepolious Phillips.
