Timmie "Tim" Richards (Lansing)

Mr. Timmie “Tim” Richards passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 64 years. He was born June 11, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan. The son of Ramon and Phyllis Richards.

Tim was a life long Lansing resident. He worked at ASC for 21 years and was currently employed by Tecomet. Tim’s strength, determination and his will to live that allowed him to work up to one week prior to his death. He enjoyed get togethers with family and friends, shooting pool and working in the yard. Tim loved holidays and made them extra special for his family. He lost his battle with cancer but did not go down without a fight! Tim lived his life on his terms, NOT cancer’s terms!

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years, Sheree Thurman Richards; 2 daughters, Tahina Thurman and Sierra Richards; son, Tim (Cindy) Richards; grandchildren, De’Marco Washington, Monea’ Washington, Alexis Washington, Thalia Richards, De’Layno Davis, A’Laiyah Richards and Amir Davis; 9 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Brenda (rick), Linda, Debbie and Lori (Paul); brother, Randy (Margie); sister-in-law, Dee Thurman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful granddaughter, Ra’Shyia “Shyia” Davis, age 12 who passed away on October 5, 2017. The family takes great comfort in knowing they are together again. Additionally, he was predeceased by his sister, BeAnn Richards; parents, Ramon and Phyllis Richards; nephews, Bruce Southwell and Ramon “Mony” Oden; parents-in-law, Roy and Norma Thurman; sister-in-law, Dee Thurman; 3 brothers-in-law, Mike Thurman, Joe Thurman, and Ronnie Pope.
