Thomas Scott, Sr. (Lansing)

Mr. Thomas Scott, Sr. passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 68 years. He was born October 1, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Glen and Beatrice (Schaffer) Scott.

Thomas was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. He loved working on cars, trucks, and doing small engine repairs. Thomas spent most of his day outside during the warm weather, always tinkering with anything he could find. All his friends referred to him as “Hillbilly”. He would help anyone he could. Thomas was married to his wife, Rebecca for over 43 years. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than anything.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rebecca L. (Bugbee) Scott; 2 daughters, Loretta L. Scott and Beatrice Calkins; son, Thomas D. Scott, Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Katie Beard of Arkansas, Kitana Dye of East Lansing, Michigan, Jason (Lora) Dye of Arkansas, Rylin, Alley, Anthony, Devon and Leah Ruddicks; Selena, Damien and Nixolus Scott; 3 great-grandchildren, Finnigan Dulice, Chandler Jones and Waylon Dye; sister, Tammy Nash; 3 brothers,  Andy L. Scott, Byron Scott and Glen Leroy Scott; 2 sisters-in-law, Laurel Wandel and Catharine Sheldon; 2 brothers-in-law, Thomas W. Bugbee, Jr. and Richard Bugbee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Beatrice Scott; grandparents, Byron and Myrtle Schaffer; sister, Sandra Morrow; brothers, James Scott and Douglas Scott; parents-in-law, Thomas and Sherron Bugbee; brother-in-law, Wesley O. Bugbee and one niece.
