Theresa La’Shanda Jones was born May 6, 1973 in Corsicana, Texas to Leroy Jones and Shirley J. Williams. She attended Bridgeport Public Schools and graduated from Bridgeport High School, “Class of 1991.” She was a faithful member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in ministry singing in the choir. Some of her hobbies included reading, puzzles, watching movies, playing video games and spending quality time with her grandchildren, family and friends. As a child, Theresa was kind and caring, so it was no surprise that she chose the healthcare field. She served as a Home Health Aide for several group homes in the Saginaw area for many years. This job fit her perfectly because she was patient, compassionate, nurturing and had an innate caring nature. She took care of her clients as if they were her own family. That’s the kind of woman Theresa was. On Monday, July 9, 2018, Theresa ceased from labor and received her reward in heaven. And now she is being taken care of by the Great Physician who has never lost a patient.
Theresa was preceded in death by her stepfather, Freddie B. Williams, Sr; grandparents, Howard and Theresa Williams; uncle, Buford Eatmon; and nephew, Arthur Black.

Williams; father, Leroy Jones; companion and love of her life, Marvin Black; three daughters, Toriana Bridgewater, Sha’Kia Sims, Mar’Shay’ah Black; four stepchildren, Jazmine, Aaliyah, DeAndre, Marvin D. Black, Jr.; grandchildren, AnDraya and A’Yanna Medina; five sisters, Sharon Williams, Myra (Allan) Colley, Kay Williams, Bridget Reynolds, Lillian Williams; two brothers, Freddie B. Williams, Jr., Marcus Holmes; nine nieces, Alisa, Alonah, Brittany, Alayjah, Mikila, Brishia, Ty, MarQuisha; thirteen nephews, David, Carmichael, Joe, Joshua, Quan, Octavius, Jimmie, Devontray, Xavier, Daryl Jr., Dennis Jr., Justin; special niece and nephew, Ciara Colley and Keion Franklin; extended family, Shadana Black, Arthur (Ora) Black, Daryl Black, Sr., Marquavis Currington, Darnell Wilson, Pamela Currington, Harry Sims; best friends, Tamika Evans, Lauanda Seevers; many other relatives and friends.
