Theodore Johnson, Sr. was born September 6, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Clifford and Deloris Johnson. He made his heavenly transition on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the age of 68 years.
“Teddy”, as he was lovingly called, graduated from LB Landry High School in New Orleans. On June 10, 1972 in New Orleans, he married the love of his life, Anita Johnson. The two later moved to Saginaw, Michigan and built a wonderful life together. Teddy worked at Baker Perkins in Saginaw, Michigan for twenty years. He also was employed at Meg Welding on Dort Highway in Flint, Michigan and was able to retire from both places with a good working record.
Teddy was a Deacon and loved helping others. He was a faithful member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for many years. His hobbies included fishing, cooking, playing cards, fixing bikes and volunteering at the Soup Kitchen five days a week. He was a man that led by example with a servant’s heart.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Deloris Johnson; brothers, Emill Brooks, Gary, Clifford Jr. and Willie Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Anita Johnson; children, Theodore Jr. (Endora) and Terence J. Johnson; grandchildren, Jaylin Myles, T’asia Dawkins, Kania Dawkins, Elashia Jackson, Feirah Felton; grandparents, Josephine and Ammilla Williams; brother, Will (JoAnn) Brooks; aunts, Geraldine, Glory Ma Williams, Ivory Rose Vandel, Evelyn Williams; uncle, Joe Williams; mother and father-in-law, Dorothy Buford, Bruce II (Kaffie) Walker; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Bell, Tammy West, Janis Cook, Tia (Michael) Seymour, Sandra (Damajh) Arnold; brothers-in-law, Willie Cook, Bruce III (Bertha) Walker, Brian Franklin, Dwayne Walker, Derrick (Mellisa) Madison, Ivory (Bertha) Walker, Charles (Francine) Dawkins; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Gail, Phyllis, Diana, Gilda, Veronica, Tressie, Larry Bobbi, Kent “Boo” Lewis, McCoy and Laura, Willie Johnson, Robert Sr. (Zandra) Bell, JT (Shirley) Jones and Tony Reed.
