Ms. Sylvia “ Sip” Vann was born on November 20, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry James Canada and Willie Lee Moran. She left for her final resting place on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 75 years young.
Sip graduated from Northern High School in Detroit, Michigan. She was a track star during her high school years and loved watching sports all her life. She then relocated to Saginaw, Michigan and worked for General Motors Grey Iron Foundry for over a decade. Sip loved to fish, play bingo and cards. She was a loving mother, cherished daughter, a special sister and loved by all she came in contact with.
Sylvia will be missed and has left many family members and close friends to cherish her memory, including her significant, other Lonnie Beemon; three loving sons, Demetric (Michelle) Canada, Ohio, Michael (Heidi) Vann, Wisconsin, Willie Vann, Michigan; grandchildren, Auesha Clemons, Ronald McMath, Detra Clemons, Bree Vann, Ruby Vann, Jaslene G. Vann, Sylvia Czerniak, Rarah Vann, Temeka Vann, Hope Applegate, James Applegate; more than 20 great-grandchildren; extended children, Benny Goodman, Tracy Harris, Ronald Baston Jr., Aaron Vann Jr., Terry Vann; siblings, Everitt Pipkins, Joe Ann Chism, Barbara Pipkins, Eddie Canada and Marlene Barron; special cousins, Betty Price, Iona Beauchamp, the Baston Family; many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Ricky Williams, Norma Reid, and Robert T. Holmes.
