Shellie Ann Johnson (Lansing)

Mrs. Shellie A. Johnson closed her eyes and went into the Arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 68 years. She was born in Doddsville, Mississippi on March 7, 1954, to the union of Jimmy Lee and Lillie Mae Prewitt.

Shellie accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Macedonia Missionary Church where she was a lead soprano in the Youth Choir. She graduated from George Washington Craver High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Shellie later attended Langston University, before moving to Lansing, Michigan. There she met and married her husband, Jeffrey Lynn Johnson.

Shellie had a passion for gardening and that skill set earned her accolades for one of the best landscaped manicured lawns in her neighborhood. She often gave tips and flowers to her neighbors and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Clara Prewitt and Trennie Williams; three brothers, Jimmy Prewitt, Jr., John (Vernice) Prewitt and Henry (Sonya) Prewitt; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins including special cousin and best friend, Sami (Ezell) Goodman, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sue Stasiak and Eda Wilmont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Johnson; parents, Jimmy Lee and Lillie Mae Prewitt; two sisters, Helen Marie Walker and Mildred Rias.
