Sarah Trevino (Lansing)

June 10, 1966 — December 11, 2021

Ms. Sarah Tabitha Trevino was born on June 10, 1966, to Alvino and Rafaela Trevino in Plainwell, Michigan. Her name was called by God on Saturday, December 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Sarah was a resident of Lansing, Michigan, for over 21 years, prior she had lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She worked as a certified nurse assistant for many years, and then devoted her time to caring for her grandkids. She made sure all of her grandkids called her “Mom” instead of grandma, because she always said she was not an old grandma. Sarah loved her family unconditionally.

She was a uniquely classy lady, who enjoyed shopping. Sarah particularly enjoyed taking her parents thrift shopping and would always find the best deals.

Sarah had the best sense of humor; her smile and laugh will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory significant other, Ramon Wasson; daughters, Tina (Homer) Castaneda, Jasmine Coco (Reco) Stinson, and Salena Nina Applewhite; stepchildren, Troy (Vanessa) Braden, Marsha Cox, Jazzmen Wasson, Savannah Wasson, and Ramon Wasson, Jr.; 12 grandchildren, Reco Stinson, II., Mariah (David, Jr.) Ramirez, Elijah Applewhite, Isaac Castaneda, Mark Carpenter Jr., Annalisa Castaneda, Anthoney Applewhite, Ronnie Applewhite, Adrian Zuniga, Jr., Natalia Zuniga, and Nathan Zuniga; 3 great-grandchildren, London Stinson, Reco Stinson, III, and Judah Ramirez; parents, Alvino and Rafaela Trevino; sisters, Eva (Jose) Tross, Mary Galindez and brother, Bishop Victor (Elizabeth) Trevino; nieces, Valerie Punches and Victoria (Chris) Strode; nephews, Hector Galindez, Luis Galindez, Gustavo Galindez, Jeremy Reid, Hezakiah (Annastasha) Trevino, and Victor (Jessica) Trevino, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends.

Sarah is preceded in death by both her maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.

The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren Hospice and all the family and friends that offered support and condolences during this time.
