Sarah Kimbrough (Lansing)

Ms. Sarah Kimbrough Houston passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. She was born on July 27, 1949 to King, Sr. and Cora Robertson in Gallion Alabama.

Sarah was a 1967 graduate of George P Austin High School in Linden, Alabama. She married and moved to Lansing, Michigan immediately afterward. Sarah and her husband had four children and also had guardianship of her two younger sisters, Glenda and Romelia; niece, Lakesha and nephew, Darren. Sarah was famous for her cooking which she loved to do. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her proud and joy, whom she loved to care for. Sarah was a wonderful, lovingly committed mother and grandmother. She was a natural caretaker and had an innate ability to connect with children. Sarah was full of life, helped all she could and enjoyed being with people. She loved garage selling until her health started to decline. Sarah was someone who loved to talk to her family and friends on the telephone. Sarah was truly loved and her memory will forever live in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Jerome Houston, Sr., two daughters, Monica Houston and Jackie Houston; two sons, Jerome Houston, Jr. and Tyrone Houston; grandchildren, DeShawn, Shamarea, Cameron, Rachelle, Tenisha, Jerome, III, Keith, Tarrence, Kevin, and Demario; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Kimbrough and Mary (Abraham) Odunuga; brother, King (Nkenge) Robertson, Jr.; two aunts, Fannie Mae Robertson and Nora Robertson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives including mother-in-law, Eliza Houston; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ele Mae, Glenda and Romelia; and brother, Samuel.
