Sarah Lee Birk Haynes passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Saginaw Senior Care Center. Age 56 years. She was born on March 23, 1956, in Saginaw, Michigan to Willie and Hattie Mae Birk. She resided in Saginaw all of her life.
She married the love of her life Rev. Albert Haynes Jr. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where her husband also served as her pastor. Prior to her retirement, she proudly served the United States Army Reserve. She was also employed with the Federal Government and AT &T for many years. Sarah was very active and passionate in service to her community. She was acknowledged with many letters of recognition from people of prominence for her commitment to service. She loved to travel, go out to eat, attend church, and spend time with her family and friends.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memory Pastor Albert, with whom she shared more than 30 truly blessed years. The two shared the joy of their children, Wendell (Donita) Watson Jr., Newnan, Georgia, Kamesa (Johnny Jr.) Sanders, TuLisha Haynes, Travelle (Temisha) Haynes Sr., Rochenda (James) Watson Harris, all of Michigan, Albert Haynes III, Kansas, Sylverina Porter, Michigan; one sister, Barbara Birk, Virginia; two brothers, Minister Otis (Suzanne) Birk Sr., South Carolina and Edward Birk, Remus; sisters-in-law, Barbara Giles, Illinois, Helen Haynes, Michigan; brother-in-law, Gerald (Patricia) Kariem, Michigan; many grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one very special cousin, Fannie Lee Bush, two nieces; five nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She had several special children including, Kevin Bond, Antonio Sims, Vernell Phipps, Duriel Mask Sr., Johnny Brown Jr., Kevin Mills Sr., Adrian Grayer, Adilah Jackson and Shalah Austin. She also leaves to cherish her memory a very special friend Melva Bond-Boyd.
Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Caron) Haynes Sr.
