At the age of 80, Samella (Teen) Ruth passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.
Teen was born June 2, 1937 in Corner Stone, Arkansas to Samuel and Sarilla Ruth.

Teen was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Usher Board for over 30 years. Her hobbies included: dancing, cooking, crossword puzzles, board games, shopping, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.

Teen was a prayer warrior who had a caring, giving, loving, funny, and bold personality. She lived her life to the fullest even through she hated to travel or so she said. Her favorite color was brown. Teen made the best carmel cake EVER.

Teen leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters; Filis Ruth, Linda (Jimmy) Alexander, Betty Conner, and Lorena (Solomon) Ruth; two god-daughters, Kay Brown and Rosa Woodhouse; six grandchildren, Tonea (Damon) Mayo, James Ruth, Toronto Conner, Shtameka (Roderick) Carson, Corrie Ruth, and Renia (Bernard) May; twenty-five great-grandchildren, Quintoria Ruth, Shar’ne (James) Bracey, Koi Glass, Danielle Zurmuehlen, Davonte Conner, Nikita Conner, Tyesha Conner, Derrick (Alexis) Presley II, De’Shawn Presley, Eric (Brianna) Donald, Jr., Jeremiah Donald, Gabriella Rivera, Corrie Ruth, Jr., Torrie’Aunn Ruth, Daniel Ruth, Corrie’Ona Ruth, Mi’Angel Ruth, Sacoia Ruth, Malayah Ruth, Aliya Alexander-May and Za’Marriay Jones; twelve great- great-grandchildren; five sisters, Josephine Wooden, Lille Harris, Jamie Ruth, Rodell Craft, Irene (Jim) Olithant; two brothers, Robert Ruth and Charles (Mary) Ruth; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Teen was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Sarilla Ruth; two sisters, Mary Lee Ruth and Cloteal Ruth; three brothers, Joe Wooden, Robert Harris, and Simuel Craft; one great-grandchild, Devontavas Ruth; and one great-great-grandchild, Xavier Donald.
