Samarladatika Powers (Lansing)

Ms. Samarladatika “Tika” R. P. A. Powers was called Home by God on Friday, April 17, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. Age 38 years. She was born May 14, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Samuel L. Stephens and Orianda Stephens Powers.

Samarladatika, affectionately called “Tika” or “Big Tik” by her family. She and her family moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1990 when Tika was 9 years old. Samarladatika accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Lansing Everett High School, however she later transferred to Lansing Eastern High School. She graduated early in 1999. Additionally, Samarladatika earned her Certificate in Early Childhood Development from Harry Hill Vocational School during high school.

Tika will forever be remembered by many but most of all by her loving mother.

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 loving sons whom she did everything for, Craig, Jr., Omarkancl and Elijah Powers; her mother, Orianda; father, Samuel; 2 sisters, Samilla and Natonga; brother, Samuel, Jr.; many aunts including her favorite aunts, Debbie and Hattie Mae; uncles including favorite uncle, Robert Stephens; nieces, nephews, cousins including favorite cousins, Angie, Dawn, Sharae and Foetae and friends including special friends, Robert Knowles and Taneka Humes.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Yvonne Powers, Orlando Holder, Pearl Stephens and Lewis Williams; aunt, Sadie; uncles, Richard, Omar and Michael; and cousin, Anthony Powers.
