Mr. Rufus Ferguson was born May 15, 1947 in Rome, Georgia, the son of Ernest Ferguson and Bertha Mae Hightower. He completed his earthly journey on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the age of 73 years.
Rufus was a retired employee of General Motors Corporation. He worked diligently for over forty years before retiring. He was a BIG University of Michigan sports fan and was always wearing the maize and blue proudly.
To Rufus, family was everything. He loved to cook for his family and spend quality time with them, especially his grandkids, who were the pride and joy of his life. Rufus was thoughtful, funny, structured, devoted, hardworking and comical. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rufus was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Ferguson and Bertha Mae Hightower; sisters, JoAnn Johnson, Mary Jane Orr; brothers, William, Earnest, Edward Ferguson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of twenty-one years, Sonya Ferguson; four sons, Kim Ferguson, Brufus Barrett, Eric Ferguson Sr., Kevin (Nicole) Ferguson; stepchildren, Ebone (Anthony) Anderson, Jeremy Jones; twenty-two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Ferguson, Joyce Ferguson; brothers, Richard (Mary) Hightower, Jasper (Angela) Ferguson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
