On Wednesday, February 5, 2014 God put his arms around Rubbie Cameron-West Hammer and lifted her to eternal rest at the age of 56 years. She was the 10th child born to Inez Cameron and Earlton Smith Ted on May 3, 1957 in Boligee, Alabama.
Rubbie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E.W. Bothuel. She was a sharp dresser who loved to shop. Rubbie loved to dance and have fun. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Kandra Phillips of Saginaw, Michigan; three sons, Doniver and Christopher Cameron both of Boligee, Alabama and Calvin Cameron of Muskegon, Michigan; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Bessie (Lovert) Lewis of Macon, Mississippi, Agustus Dunn of Illinois and Ruth Parson of West Hartford, Connecticut; four brothers, Douglas (Lula) Cameron of Hartford, Connecticut, Willie Cameron and Charlie (Edna) Cameron both of Saginaw, Michigan and John W. Cameron of Boligee, Alabama; one aunt, Lola Anderson of Anniston, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
