Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Mrs. Robert Clair Banks went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 75 years. She was born October 29, 1936 in Sunflower, Mississippi to Myrtle Travier and Will Truss.
Robert relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where she was employed at General Motors. She retired from Buick City Assembly Plant in Flint, Michigan after several years of faithful service. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James E. Banks Sr.; four sons, Sylvester (Teresia) Banks, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jody (Leslie) Nunn, Kentwood, Michigan, Sanetrick (Kaaya) Nunn, Texas, Stanley Banks, Saginaw, Michigan; ten daughters, Barbara Watkins, Shirley McClung, Kimberly Hardy, Overzenia Laster, Gloria Banks, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Doris Quinn and Sherry ( Rev. Alfredrick) Houston, both of Elkhart, Indiana, Patricia (Eddie) Knight, Omaha, Nebraska, Linda J. Nunn and Pearline Surles, both of Battle Creek, Michigan; twenty-one grandchildren including her special grandchildren, Felicia Watkins, Jason Surles, Kenyada Nunn, Tyrell Cooper, Anthony Pack; a special nephew, Calvin White; many other relatives and friends including a special friend, George Hardy.
Robert was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Travier and Will Truss; one son, James Banks Jr.; all seven of her siblings.
