Revel Lamont Donald "Shorty"

January 27, 1971 — October 4, 2023

Mr. Revel Lamont Donald, better known as “Shorty,” was born on January 27, 1971, to Revel and Marion Donald in Saginaw, Michigan. He took his rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of 52 years, while surrounded by his family and friends.

Shorty graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1989 and after graduating he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Sierra. He was a member of the Greater Impact International Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Angela Parkes, serving faithfully in the ministry with his wife, Brenda, by his side. Shorty was a very humorous person and made everyone laugh. He loved to cook, spend time with his family and, if you needed him, he was always there. Shorty will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Donald; mother, Marion Donald; three children, Coral Hammond, Gabrell Donald, and Alisha Clayborn, all of Memphis, Tennessee; four stepchildren, Cierra Collier, Jasmine and Letia Johnson, and John Edwards, Saginaw, Michigan; siblings, Gordon (Adrienn) Dodson, Desiree, Sirmonia, Darlean, and Marlean Donald, Charlean (Michael) Nelums, Chimere Currington, and Joetta Mitchell of Suffolk, Virginia; six grandchildren, McKenna, Garielle, Gabrell Donald, Chase Long, Alejandra Dickerson, and Serenity Houston; aunts, Barbara (Norris) Brown, Wanda Liggins, Annie Donald; great-aunts, Chatton Heard, and Georgia (Richard) Washington, Marion, Indiana; uncle, Richard Haines; great-uncles, Otis (Ruby) Dodson, Marion, Indiana, and Gilbert Dodson Sr., Fairfield, California; mother-in-law, Suzie Johnson, Royal Oak, Michigan; father-in-law, Jessie Walker; sisters-in-law, Pamela Walker, Shekita Garner, Latiaya Johnson, and Dorothy Buckhanan; brothers-in-law, Jessie, Jeffery, and Jessie Walker; a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and friends, including his best friend, Lance Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Revel Donald; sister, Gabrille Donald; grandparents, Melvin and Wardine Donald, Jessie Mae Thomas, Harold Dodson, Walter and Artia Laury; he was also welcomed home by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We extend special thanks to our family, friends, Pastor Parkes and Greater Impact International Ministries Church Family, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
