Preston Leavy (Lansing)

March 3, 1963 — December 23, 2022

Mr. Preston Lee Leavy affectionately known as “Bae-Bae” was born on March 3, 1963, to Morris and Elsie Lee Leavy in Stanton, Tennessee.


Preston Leavy graduated from Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tennessee in 1982. and later relocated to Lansing, Michigan from Stanton, Tennessee to pursue his skilled career.


After many years of employment with Melling Drop Forge, and The Lansing Housing Commission Preston decided to return to Stanton, Tennessee. where he accepted a better opportunity to further his career in the truck driving and contracting industry to build.


Preston confessed a hope in Christ at Adams Chapel CME Church in, Stanton, Tennessee. Preston later returned to Michigan to reunite with his family and further his career. Preston was a devoted and loving Father of two daughters Dr. Tareva (Rod) Watts and Tempresse Leavy, both of Lansing Michigan.


Preston enjoyed fishing with his devoted Uncle and very best friend; “Uncle Ocie”. Preston was a simple and selfless man who took pleasure in serving others and working on cars, every opportunity presented to him. His smile was contagious, and he never complained about anything. Preston had a heart of gold. To know him was to love him.


Preston was preceded in death by parents (Morris and Elsie Lee Leavy of Stanton, TN); Grandparents (Abner and Mattie Middlebrook of Stanton, TN and Perry and Aileen Leavy of Stanton, TN.); Brother (Charles White of Lansing, MI.); Grandchildren (Pniese Warren, Imani Warren & Imari Warren of Lansing, MI.); Aunties (Lillie M. Leavy, Lorine Leavy, Mattie Sue Middlebrook all of Stanton, TN.); Uncles (Robert (cookie) Leavy, L.C. Leavy, Lawerance F. Leavy, Raymond Leavy, John Leavy, and LD Leavy all of Stanton, TN., Uncle JB Middlebrook of Waukegan, IL. and Uncle Henry Johnson Middlebrook of Memphis, TN.).


Preston departed from this life on Friday December 23, 2022.


 He leaves to cherish his memories daughters; Dr. Tareva (Roderick) Watts and Tempresse Leavy. Grandchildren Ma’Syah and Makai Watts, Grace and Jerry Leavy; Sisters; Patricia (Lee) White-Wiggins of Memphis, TN and Mary (Lee) Partee of Brownsville, TN.; Sister-in-law Peggy (Charles White); Uncle “Ocie” (Katherine) Middlebrook, Uncle Curtis (Dessalene) Leavy. A devoted friend and mother of his children Mrs. Patricia Coats (Patty), special friends; Reggie and Anthony, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
