Otis Dawson Butterfield Sr. passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 76 years. He was born October 10, 1935 in Talluah, Louisiana to Olivia and Walter Butterfield Sr. He was a member of Zion Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry after 30 years of service. Otis enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, bowling, taking care of the animals at the farm, trips to the casino, and grilling the best barbecue in the world. He loved spending time with his family most of all. He had respect for all mankind and never met a stranger. He always had a listening ear. Otis was a great story teller. He had a beautiful smile and always lend a helping hand.
Mr. Butterfield leaving to cherish his memory his loving wife, Zola Butterfield; five sons, Ray Ransom, Las Vegas, Nevada, Otis Jr. (Temple), Todd (Kimberly), Carey (Sheverna) Butterfield, Ruben Vaiz (Lavinia), two daughters, Tina Vaiz, Kathy Kelley (Mikell Huff) all of Saginaw, Michigan; 26 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Isabelle Clark of Arkansas, Rita Washington , Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Roosevelt (Willietta) McGill, Walter Butterfield Jr. both of Las Vegas, Nevada; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including very special in-laws, the Blanton Family and Shavrnoch Family, also special friends, Steve Robinson, Ray Sorrows, Robert Hayes, Cleavland Smith, Calvin Williams, Allen Duckworth and Georgia Diggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olivia and Walter Butterfield Sr., mother of his children, June Butterfield, sons, Terry and Craig Butterfield, brother, Percy Butterfield, uncle, Robert Diggs.
