Norma Jean Snow

November 1, 1942 — March 24, 2016

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 24, 2016 at the age of 73 years. She was born November 1, 1942 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to James Hall and Rosie Lee Brantley.
Norma resided in Saginaw, Michigan where she was a caretaker and wife for many years until the passing of her late husband James Snow in 2009. Norma continued to be a caretaker to her sister, Rose Ann. Norma was an active member/Mother at Love Center Outreach C.O.G.I.C for countless years where she served people relentlessly. Her hobbies included reading the Bible, spending time with family, shopping and cooking. One of her favorite pastimes was communicating with family and friends via Facebook and telephone. Norma was big on family and loved the Lord. One of her favorite gospel songs was Cooling Water, and her favorite color was purple. Norma was known for her generosity, and for showing love beyond measure. If you didnt know Norma Jean Snow, you truly missed out.

Her memory will be cherished by her six children; daughters, Sylvia Burt, Southfield, Michigan, Cheryl Carpenter, Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Mary Snow Saginaw, Michigan; sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Carpenter, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Anthony Snow, Saginaw, Michigan and Kelvin Carpenter, Saginaw, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, Angela and Latanya Burt, Renard (Sharon) Burt Jr., Travis Hendrix, Miranda and Michael Carpenter, Jr., Crystal Shaw, Mary Carpenter, Damario (Shannon) Worthington, Sharnice Ragland, Tony and Jasmine Moten, Jaqulia and Jacoby Carpenter, Darron Harness; fourteen great- grandchildren, Anjenetta Hicks, Tiara Pearson, Raekwon and Brianna Burt, Dominique Burt, Josiah Carpenter, Michaela Dukes, MiLisa and LiAna Carpenter, Jeremiah and Braylen Hendrix, Justice Shaw, Jayda and Kimberly Worthington; six sisters, Deloise Lyte, Dorothy Jean Jamison, Rose Ann Brantley, Fayre P. Tolliver, Valda (Daniel) Barksdale, Jorie (Gregory) Swan; three brothers, Jimmie and Edward Earl Brantley, Ronald (Peggy) Hall; three brothers-in-law, Claude Roby, Hubert and Ossie Snow; five sisters-in-law, Ruthie Rockett, Vira Wilkerson, Rachel Roby, Emma and Clarissa Snow. Norma was loved by many and she had a host of godchildren, adopted grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, James Hall and Rosie Lee Brantley, husband, James Snow, siblings, Doris Annette Dotson, James Hall Jr., Beverly Harmon, Dale and Derrick Hall, step-mother, Etta Hall, son-in-law, Renard Burt, brother-in-law, Johnnie Snow, granddaughter, Taryn Carpenter, and great-grandchildren, Tavarus Carpenter and Blessence Gilchrist.

The family would like to express special thanks to Fresenius Medical Center Bay Area Saginaw Riverside Dialysis Center, Pastor Eddie E. Brown, Pastor Ron Frierson and the New Covenant Christian Center Church family, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
