Mrs. Nancy Marie Carter passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Mary’s of Michigan-Saginaw. Age 65 years. She was born May 30, 1952 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Jessie and Reather Mae Collier.
Nancy was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan and a graduate of Buena Vista High School, Class of 1970. She was employed many years at Hoyt Nursing Home and at Sodexo as a dietary aide for the schools. Nancy loved her grandchildren, aerobics, cooking, watching TV, laughing and all her Jeeps. She was definitely a “social butterfly.” Nancy loved life and she lived life to the fullest. She was all natural with her big afro and her bow legs. She could walk in some heels like nobody’s business. Nancy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, wife and friend. She had a smile that could light up a room. Rest now, you have your wings!
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Delmaria Johnson; one son, Joseph Johnson; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Jo’Taizia Tashay, Jonae Marie, Joseph, Joeb, Jo’Siah, Jo’Nique and Darrius Enoh Johnson; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Reather Mae Pierrie; siblings, Jessie Collier, Saginaw, Michigan, Walter (Edna) Collier, Texas, Rosalee Chaffer, Flint, Michigan and Doris Fuller, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces and nephews; true best friend, Theresa Lamarr; extended family, the Johnson’s, whom she loved very much.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Collier, sisters, Mary McClure and Jean Colburne, and nephew, Cornelius McBride.
