Mrs. Emma Lee

December 21, 1939 — February 8, 2015

Mrs. Emma L. Lee departed this earthly life for her eternal place in Heaven on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Age 75 years. She was born December 21, 1939 in Leighton, Alabama to Rebecca Meredith and Johnnie Thompson.
Emma was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Marvin T. Smith. On August 16, 1975 she joined Davis Lee in holy matrimony. Together they shared 39 years of wedded bliss. He survives her. Emma enjoyed sewing, crafts and shopping. She especially enjoyed cooking. Emma was well known for her homemade rolls and sweet potato pies. Gone but never forgotten, her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory her husband, Davis Lee; two daughters, Linda Caldwell of Saginaw, Michigan and Emma L. Rutland of Rome, Georgia; one son, Cletes Rutland of Brighton, Georgia; three step-children, Elizabeth Banks of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, L.H. Lee of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Mark Lee of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jaylen Caldwell of Saginaw, Michigan and Dasmine Rutland of Pennsylvania; two god-daughters, Marquisha Jones of Saginaw, Michigan and Rhonda Clark of Grand Rapids, Michigan; many nieces and nephews; one aunt, Lizzie Anderson of Saginaw, Michigan; several cousins including her special cousins, Rilous Perkins and Emma B. Savage both of Florence, Alabama, Bennie Williams, Elaine Clement and Willie Hampton Pee Wee all of Saginaw, Michigan; seven sisters-in-law, Pinkie Sanders of Chicago, Illinois, Ora Loveless, Ella Jones, Alberta Austin, Vivian (M.C.) Tarkington, Gladys Humes and Tena (Willie) Bond all of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother-in-law, L. H. (Davida) Lee of Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including a special friend, Louise Clark of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca Meredith and Johnnie Thompson, one son, Ervin Davis.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Karu and staff, Shirley and Mary of Saginaw Hospice and everyone who offered condolences and prayers.
