Mother Dorothy Moore (Lansing)

September 5, 1929 — April 8, 2015

THE EARTH JOURNEY OF EVANGELIST DOROTHY M. MOORE
Mother Dorothy M. Moore went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing, Michigan.
Dorothy M. Autman was born as a twin on September 5, 1929, in Holly Ridge, LA to Ado Sr. and Rosie Mae Autman. During her childhood, Dorothy attended Chase School in Holly Ridge, LA. She was known for playing first base on the all-girl team where many of her opponents knew she was going to get them out!!! She was a strong competitor in anything she did.
Dorothy worked many years as a Nurses-Aide for Calhoun County Nursing Home known as Marshall Manor in Marshall, MI. God blessed Dorothy with wisdom and knowledge to reason and learn fast to become the Vice-President of the Union at Marshall Manor. Dorothy received the Lord at an early age. After hearing and accepting Jesus as her personal Savior, she continued to serve the Lord for over 65 years. Her desire was for the Lord to anoint her to pray for people and God granted her that desire.
Dorothy joined Gethsemane Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the late Supt. James S. Lee. During her tenure she became a Sunday school teacher, President of the local and District #10 Sunshine Band as well as singing in the church choir. She served as the prayer warrior under Bishop Earl J. Wright of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southwest Michigan C.O.G.I.G. Dorothy spent many years traveling all across the State of Michigan ministering to aged and young women as well as cultivating and grooming kingdom children through the work of the Sunshine Band.
Because of her love for children, God blessed her to unite in matrimony to the late Supt. Pastor Bobbie Lee Moore Sr. by adding four wonderful girls making a blended family the sparkle in a diamond. As the family grew from nine to twelve, God saw fit to place the late Bobbie Moore Sr. as Pastor of New Hope C.O.G.I.C. in Battle Creek, MI. Dorothy served diligently and faithfully by his side, building the kingdom of God even within the womens prison facility in Coldwater, MI. They were the couple who were respected and honored throughout the State of Michigan as they touched so many lives from all walks of life.
She leaves to cherish her memory ten children, Emma J. Word-Mitchell of Atlanta, GA., James Melvin Tucker of Battle Creek, MI., Delores E. (Jeffrey) Jenkins of Ypsilanti, MI., Noel L. Moore, Merry L. Moore, Carol L. Moore-Brown, Dorothy (Bishop Samuel Jr.) Duncan all of Lansing, MI., Joseph E. (Elizabeth) Shellman Bonham, TX., Charles E. Shellman of Dallas, TX., Bobby L. (Anne) Moore Jr. of Comstock Park, MI., 29 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Autman, and Taro (Simmie) Autman Sr. both of Joliet, IL., a special sister-in-law, Bessie Lee of Talladega, AL., and a special daughter-in-law, Dalia Tucker of Battle Creek, MI.
