Minister Anthony Wilkerson

September 16, 1965 — October 9, 2017

Minister Anthony Wilkerson, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, “Paw Paw”, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 52 years. He was born September 16, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of Jerry and Willean Wilkerson.

Anthony attended Saginaw Public Schools, graduating from Saginaw High School in 1983. He was a member of the Saginaw High School Traveling Trojan Band. Music was his second love. Anthony started playing at eight years old. He was the Minister of Music and faithful member of Word of Faith International Ministries for thirty-two years. Anthony attended Ross Medical School to become a Medical Assistant, graduating in the top of his class and was currently attending Colorado Technical University with plans to graduate in May 2018. Anthony loved golfing, fishing, bowling, tennis, videotaping his grand-kids and making people laugh. He had a profound sense of humor. Anthony loved family time and Sunday dinners. He will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched musically and personally.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 30 years, Crystal Wilkerson, Saginaw, Michigan; two daughters, Diamond Cain and Ashley Beemon; one son, Marcus Beemon; the children he raised as his own, Candice (Tremaine) Phillips, Takeyshia Griffin, Derrick (Sabrina) Davis, and James Clay; five grandchildren, Anthony Evans, Ace Brown, Aarien Brown, Aaniyah Beemon, and Aaliyah Beemon; six sisters, Duronnia (Walter) Bentley, Las Vegas, Nevada, Yolanda (Roy) Adkins, Juanita (Kenneth) Augustine, Clarice Griffin, Jerri Ann (Hubert) Hoking, and Willean (Gary) Campbell; thirty-four nieces and nephews; twenty-four great-nieces and nephews; seven great-great-nieces and nephews; four aunts, Eloise Taylor, Clara Smith, Kay Jones, and Mertise Martin; one uncle, Leon (Vanessa) Davis; a host of cousins and godchildren; mother and father-in-law, Barbara (Charles) Clemons; one sister-in-law, Kimberley Spates; three brothers-in-law, Charles Clemons, Claude Brown III, and Corree Brown; many other relatives and friends including Will and Danyell Hillman, Bernadette Brown, Vic (Miriam) Johnson, Torrey Johnson (special cousin), Ernestine (Alvin) Rimmer, James (Sophia) Perry, Jon (Stephanie) Timmons, Andrea Lamar and spiritual leaders, Dr. Byron and Minister Chester Mae Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Willean Wilkerson; two sisters, Jerline Wilkerson, Nadine Wilkerson; one niece, Erica Wilkerson, one nephew, Joseph Phillips.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Byron and Minister Chester Mae Hayes and the Word of Faith International Ministries family for all acts of kindness and love shown during this time of sorrow.
