January 28, 1929 — November 4, 2012

Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Mother Mary Lee Watson, departed the earthly tabernacle and entered into the very presence of the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Saginaw Senior Healthcare surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly. Age 83 years. She was born January 28, 1929 in Hayti, Missouri, the daughter of the late Joseph and Skiry Burns.
On April 29, 1948 she was united in holy matrimony to James R. Watson. He predeceased her in June 2012. Upon moving to Saginaw, Michigan, together they were blessed to have raised seven lovely children. Mother Watson accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the early age of eighteen, she had no idea that this earthly walk would make her into the Godly woman that she became. She was a wise, praying, patient, kind, caring and gentle woman of God with a smile that would melt your heart. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. Mother Watson touched the lives of many. She always had something good to say and she was always encouraging people. She saw the good in everyone. She served the Lord faithfully at Developing Victorious Disciple In Ministry in Saginaw, Michigan under the leadership of her son and was the mother of the church. Mother Watson loved baking and cooking. Her favorite dishes were: beans, fish, chicken and dumplings, corn bread, peach cobbler, lemon pineapple cake and banana pudding. She enjoyed shopping and car rides. Mother Watson had an undying love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they made her day. She loved to sing and praise the Lord. Her favorite saying was, Hey Baby, Ive been running for Jesus a long time, I thank God for Jesus, bless His name. Mother Watson believed in raising her children in the fear of the Lord. She served Mother Lena Mae Lucas for over 20 years. She enjoyed going to Memphis, Tennessee and later on to St. Louis to the Holy Convocation. She has also served as District Missionary, once sung with the national choir and served communion in the Holy Convocation.
Mother Mary Lee Watson leaves to cherish her fond and loving memory her children, James (Mary) Watson, Vera (Edward) Jones, Demiestro (Debbie) Watson, Tina McMillon, Theodore (Charity) Watson, Ben Watson and Cecil (Elease) Watson, all of Saginaw; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ida Caldwell, Dorothy (Reubin) Marselis, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Geraldine Riley and Bernice Burns, both of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers, Dan (Etta) Burns, Leon (Dorothy) Burns, both of Saginaw, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Diana Burns, Patty Burns, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Lillie Mae Gill, Los Angeles, California; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Kimberley Gibson, Missionary Pam Dottery, close neighbor Mrs. B and Karen.
Mother Watson was preceded in death by her six sisters, Ora Seales, Roberta Paige, Laura Burns, Irene Campbell, Margaret Pearson, Lenora Lewis; three brothers, Walter Burns, Joe Burns, Leonard Burns; one grand-daughter, Felicia Watson.
