Mark Anthony Riley "Sabo"

December 12, 1959 — April 5, 2022

Mr. Mark Anthony Riley "Sabo" beloved brother, father, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the age of 62 years. He was born December 12, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Willie and Catherine Riley.


Mark served in the US Navy aboard the USS Midway during the Iran Contra Affair. He traveled to many countries including sovereign states and territories of the Indian Ocean. Mark was the life of the party. He loved to dance and sing. His favorite group was the Temptations. Mark was an exceptionally good chess player, and he also played the drums. He was loved by his nieces and nephews who called him “Unk.” Mark will be deeply missed.


Mark’s memory will be cherished by his two sons, James Flowers, and Mark Riley II; four sisters, Orries Riley-Jackson, Debra (Lester) Weston, Pamela Vaughn, and Mary Harris; two brothers, Charles (Jackie) Riley, and Carron Riley; many nieces, nephews and cousins; including special nieces, Charita Johnson and Leslie "Poodie" Weston; three special nephews, Tracy Payne, Donta and Corbin Riley; one aunt, Gladys “Lucille” Henry; special friends; Calvin White, Jimmy Swilley, Clinton Miller, Willie Earl Walker, Cynthia Perkins, and Vivian Blacksher.


Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Catherine Riley; grandparents; three brothers, Ricky, Rivas, and Terry Riley; two nephews, Tawaun Moses, and Carrington Riley; one niece, Ruby Dent; and two great-nieces, Tori, and Ja’lynn Rose Riley.
