Magnolia Taylor

September 20, 1915 — December 11, 2014

Mother Magnolia Taylor departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the age of 99 years. She was born September 20, 1915 in Charleston, Mississippi to Clarence and Veolia Taylor.
Mother Maggie accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age. She attended school in Mississippi and Arkansas. Mother Maggie was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of East St. Louis, Illinois. After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan she became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church currently under the leadership of Pastor Rodrick Smith where she sang in the choir and served on the Mothers Board. She loved Sunday School and her church family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but on a good day she would be fishing. Mother Maggie was a seamstress for many years. In her later years, she was a vivacious sales lady. She retired after several years of service. Gone but never forgotten, her wonderful presence will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and her beloved son-in-law, Charlene and Morgan Robinson of Saginaw, Michigan; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; many other relatives and friends including her special friends at Maplewood Manor, her dear friends, Roxie Ford, Mable Holloway, Dorothy Harris and Vera McMillon.
Mother Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters, one brother, two grandsons and many dear friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Rodrick Smith and the Zion Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Joyce Redfearn and the St. Lukes CME Church family, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel, Healthsource Saginaw and everyone who expressed love and concern during our time of bereavement.
