Ms. Maggie Ann Hughes departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the age of 70 years. She was born November 28, 1944 in Louisville, Mississippi to Maggie Crosby and Garland Hughes.
Maggie was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She retired from Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, New York after several years of service as a custodian. Maggie enjoyed watching western and vampire movies. She also enjoyed knitting. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Maggie always anticipated a visit from her granddaughter, J'Nicque "Nikki" Carter. Her wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Johnny Ray Carter Sr.; grandchildren, Savhanna Carter, J'Nicque Carter, Latoya Comer, Diondre Riley, Johnny Ray Carter Jr., Kiera Carter, Caleb and Arielle Carter; a host of great-grandchildren; several brothers, and sisters; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Doris Thompson and Vickie l. Jones.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Hughes and mother, Maggie Crosby.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who offered kind words, prayers and encouraging words during our time of bereavement.
