Lucille Carson (Lansing)

September 4, 1937 — October 5, 2015

Ms. Lucille B. Carson peacefully made her transition on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the age of 78 years. She was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on September 4, 1937 to the late Charles and Minnie Cosey Carson. Lucille was the youngest of sixteen children.

Lucille confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cary, Mississippi. She attended school in Mississippi, Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. She also attended the Goldberg School of Nursing.
Lucille was affectionately called Momma, Momma Lucy, Grandma, Aunt Lucy, Cille Baby, Birdie and GG. She was employed at Boulevard General Hospital and Northville State Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Lucille moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1971 and retired from the State of Michigan after 28 years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Charles (Audra) Carson, of Lansing, Michigan, Donna Carson of Detroit, Michigan, the Austin children: Diane, Alvin, Geneva and Justin (Diane) Austin all of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Ashley (Edward II) Carson-Allen, whom she raised as her own, of Lansing, Michigan, Aroson (Deanna) Randle, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Afriyie Randle, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; great- grandchildren, Brandon, Kory, Logan and A.J.; god-daughter Andra McKoy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one brother, James Carson of Oak Park, Michigan; one sister, Lenora Benvenutti of Detroit, Michigan, sister-friends, Lorna Triplett and Lessie Lartigue of Lansing, Michigan; brother-friends, Elder J.W. Callahan of Flint, Michigan and Elder Homer Lartigue of Lansing, Michigan; a spiritual nephew, Bishop Larry D. Trotter of Chicago, Illinois; God-sent angels, Danny and Renee Comage and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Cosey Carson, brothers, Charles J. Jr., Bill, Albert, Damon, Warren, Frederick and Isaiah; sisters, Addie B., Sarah, Belle, Dorothy, Mary Doll and Alice.
