Louis Harper Jr.

Mr. Louis Harper, Jr. passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 63 years. He was born November 3, 1951 to Arlethia and Louis Harper, Sr.
Louis resided in Saginaw Michigan. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John Williams. He married his loving and devoted wife, Luola Harper in 2000. He worked many years at the Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry, and later in Brighton, Michigan, doing general labor. Louis hobbies included fishing, playing cards, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino, playing the lottery and talking smack. Louis was known for making the best cornbread you ever tasted.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters and four sons, Sheryl "Lillie" Smith, Dion (Asa) Smith, Demerest (Brian) Fisher, Alithia Harper-Bridgewater, and Thomas (Jackie) Harper, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Patrick Harper and Robert Watts of Gulfport, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lavario, Artneil, Dion Jr., Domonique Smith, Jeffery Hill, Jr., Levern McFadden, Jr., Darren Bridgewater, Jerome Polk, DiLavonte Smith and Aaliyah Harper-Wilson; great-grandchildren, Dion Smith III, Amari Smith, Allure Divine Nichole Sheffield, Heaven Lanae Hill, and Baby London; nine siblings, Vinnie Syllivans, Judy, Gloria, Carolyn, Delisa, Arlena (Charles) Smith, all of Gulfport, Mississippi; three brothers, Willie Louis, Charles, and Stanley Harper; special niece, Denise Harper; special goddaughter, Catherine Scott; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Ara, Bay Bro Weathers, Donell Clayton, Isaiah "Stink" Weathers, Jeffery Hill, Sr., Brian Fisher, son-in-law who took care of him until the end, Aunt Lula, and Katora Brooks who also helped take care of him, Lori Kirkwood, Fred Foster, and special cousin, Chicago Smitty.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Luola Harper, parents, Louis Sr. (Arlethia) Harper, sister, Deloris Harper, mother and father-in-law, Will (Luzalia) Smith, daughter, Toschia Smith, aunt, Catherine Harper, uncle, Charley Louis, granddaughter, Baby Khali Smith, and his best friend, Floyd Scott.
